A burst hose flooded a living room and entry. We flood-cut the lower walls, dried the engineered hardwood in place and contained the work area.
Water ran under the engineered hardwood and into the lower walls of the living room, the most-used room of the house. Replacing the floor would have meant matching a discontinued product across the whole first level.
We protected walkways, built containment walls and flood-cut the drywall above the wicking line to open the cavities. Hardwood floor drying mats pulled moisture from beneath the planks while dehumidifiers and air movers dried the walls. HEPA air scrubbers kept dust down, and readings were taken daily until the wood matched unaffected areas.
The engineered hardwood flattened back out and was saved, avoiding a full first-floor flooring replacement.
