A roof leak opened a hole in a living room ceiling with an older popcorn finish. We contained the room, repaired the drywall and matched the texture.
The ceiling had an older popcorn texture, so the finish had to be tested before any sanding or scraping, and the room was fully furnished.
After the existing texture tested negative for asbestos, we sealed the living room with plastic, removed the damaged section, dried the cavity and installed a new drywall patch. The patch was taped, feathered and sprayed with matching popcorn texture, then the ceiling was painted.
The repaired section blends into the original ceiling, and the containment kept the rest of the home clean.
