Water-Damaged Wall Rebuild — Retail Back Office in Cedar Park

A backed-up roof drain soaked a back-office wall in a retail store. We removed the drywall, dried the studs, replaced insulation and rebuilt and painted the wall to match.

The Challenge

The store needed to stay open, and the wall sat in the main path between the sales floor and the stock room. Water had wicked more than two feet up the drywall and saturated the insulation.

Our Solution

We installed a plastic containment wall with a zip door so staff could pass safely, removed wet drywall and insulation and dried the studs with directed air and a dehumidifier. After readings were confirmed, we installed new insulation and drywall, finished it to a smooth level and painted it to match the existing color.

  • Containment with zip door for staff access
  • Removal of wet drywall and insulation
  • Stud drying with daily readings
  • New insulation, drywall and finish
  • Paint matched to existing wall color

The Result

The store never closed, and the finished wall matches the rest of the office.
